In the graphic universe of Rasmus Danø (1974), the dystopia meets the humorous. His distinctive cartoonish style blends the gravest serious and gloomy with the quote's biting satire and twinkle in the eye - the world is heavy, but why not dance on the tombstone instead of lying down to die? There is something classic and at the same time urban, street-crooked and unpretentious in Danø's aesthetic - the traditional graphic virtues meet a contemporary expression in a combination that suits each other surprisingly well. Rasmus Danø graduated from the Royal Regiment. The Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2001 and has since exhibited actively at home and abroad. He has received the National Arts Foundation's annual work grant several times by 2015.
